i agree that petrov is not fast, and that his seat was only secured through russian cash. and for those who said "look at the car" meaning that the car was a bag of bones, well renault really developed the car into one of the fastest towards the end of the season, and petrov was still slow. but whilst saying all that, he at least enlivened the championship in the last race.

I didn't compare him to JB, and I don't deny he has secured his seat with some serious bucks, but I still believe he's competitive enough (though erratic at times) to deserve a drive especially considering he can pay for it. He's certainly more competitive than say Ferrari calling up their test driver for example.
