Martin Whitmarsh tells Crash.net that the new McLaren-Mercedes MP4-26 will be 'innovative' and provoke 'lots of discussion' - and with 'the best driver pairing in F1', it will also vie for title glory in 2011

'Innovative', 'lots of discussion', 'the best driver pairing in F1'. A lot of talk but what else is he to do? Thats part of his job description, to get people wondering what is going on over there and to provide a bit of marketing for the brand. What else is new?

@ norville2
The F-duct wasn't squat by the end of the year, not to mention F1 isn't a straight-line drag race. McLaren has had issues with high and low speed corners since Newey departed... So, if "innovative" means starting on the back foot, again (if they still haven't ironed out tjose issues), then McLaren may be 3rd or 4th in line going forward.

Whether you acknowledged it or not, Red Bull had illegal front wings but managed to get away with it....that is why they were fast around corners..

IMHO that is....

Gee, I hope they do not steal any Ferrari data this time around. Sure helped them last time.
Just kidding all. Just hopeing for a good racing season with passing on the track instead of quallys determining the majority of outcomes. Or should I state, almost All outcomes.
This being in the top 5 in quallys has to stop. It, as we all know, has become more important than the race itself regardless of the first corner or engineering or driver skill.
Snowing bad here so have wood to cut. Have fun all and see ya later..
