Yes but that means nothing.

Testing will give you a general feel for which cars are working straight out the box, but within a team you can't really tell anything. Ric may have been doing qually runs whilst Alg was doing race set-up on heavy tanks for example. Who knows? What tyres were each of the running? etc etc.

schumi has posted a few good times, but it is difficult to read anything into these. his average time over all his laps, full and empty, is still down on the average times of a number of runners. but even these mean nothing. as oli said, some are running quali type runs, possibly for a bit of publicity, and others are just tootling around, testing various additions, tyres exhausts etc. we will not be able to see true pace until quali for the first race.

basically nothing has been proven as it is not a level field at the moment, have it on pretty good authority though that Mclaren have another 1.5 secs in the bag but dont want to show on first outing, Button reckons it feels like when he had the advantage at Brawn, that car was quick out of the box but they couldn't develop it....Mclaren can with their resources?? watch this space !

Rob, I don't know where you get your rumours from (did you make it up?) but earlier today, Button had only done 24 laps compared to more than 60 for Schumacher and Massa, so yes, he probably had only used one set of tyres. I'm sure Button would rather have used both types of tyre by now.
