F1 » Sauber find 'new directions' at Barcelona test

James Key: It's always good to use this track as a reference. You get a far better idea about what your car is doing and where its strong and weak points are.

Without an experienced driver, this is probably going to the be the story of the season for Sauber ... "we got to day 4 (last day of the test), & then found a new direction on setup".

When you only stumble upon 'a direction' just before qualifying on a race weekend ... it's too late.

Dale, this happens all the time...look at Mercedes last year...they came alive at the end of the season due primarily to focusing on set up changes to the car rather than endless new pieces which accomplished nothing. The bottom line is Sauber did find some effective (according to them) changes that made a difference in the car's performance.
BTW U heard it here first: Sauber will make at least one podium this year and beat last year 8th position in the constructors.
