Nick Heidfeld says that testing performances may have created high hopes for Lotus Renault, but he feels under no added pressure as he fills in for the injured Robert Kubica this season.

Kwik Nick sounds like a wise and mature guy. He can evaluate the situation very well, he know where he is. All this is to his advantage. Only thing left is to prove the potential of the car in Australia. I believe people expect an underdog to mess with the best in field, I would love to see that happen.

Heidi is so wrong, if Kubica is unable to come back and you don't have the results you think you'll be hanging around wiht comrade Petrov and drink chai...

A "Robert-spec" car, I like that.

@50 Cent, Regardless of whether Nick or Vitaly "have the results" overall, you can't forget that Petrov has yet to outpace anyone. I figure its much more likely that you'll see Heidfeld doing quite well, trouncing Petrov (which I think a trained baboon on a big-wheel can do), and when RoboKubica returns, he'll be in Pettie's car, not Heidi's.

The team is much less reliant on rubles this year than last, now that they are awash with ringgits.

Lastly, does Nick really strike you as a chai drinker? With that hair he's more likely to share some OJ with Beiber.

I think Renault (or whatever they are called these days) made the right choice in NH, lets hope he can turn this oportunity into a full time drive. He deserves a seat more than the pay-per-seat drivers.

Good luck to him.

KGB - where did I say that comrade Petrov will be outpacing Heidi? Like you said a trained monkey could do better than comrade, I hope he proves me wrong. Last but not least, all I was saying about Heidi getting it wrong was that if he thinks there will be no pressure to get the results he maybe is drinking too much chai with cannabis...

It'll be realy interesting for me to see what they can achive this season with Nick at the wheel.
I dont think he is bad , but never thought of him as good neither. This season it is Lotus not Renault. There will be a few teams using Renault engines on the grid (ex,. Red Bull).
Their budget 100 mln is funny comparing to other top teams. I dont expect them to get anything more than last year - and that would be hard as well.
I can see Williams doing better.
Someone called Kubica Robokub :) Kind of funny i guess
after those lengthy surgeries. But he does not need a software to operate his hand. Would be nice to see him back quickly

Lotus is just a sponsor and technically it's pure Renault this year. In future Lotus has a plan to get involved in this project also technically so the purpose is to put Lotus engine and all other electronics stuff while Renault parts will be removed. Then it'll be easy to say 'It's Lotus F1'
