Will be interesting to hear the Spanish or Italian take on this story. I've read into the Hamilton/Alonso 2007 fued quite alot and have uncovered a few facts from the Hungary 2007 Qualifying session...

Look it up on youtube and you will see a clearly very angry Alosno refusing to move from the McLaren pitbox to allow Hamilton to refuel in the dieing moments of qualifying. Its easy to instantly brand him as a sour loser who wants to mess up his own team mates strategy.

BUT.....

When reading up on the story it was acctually caused by Hamilton. The plan was to send Alonso out 1st for Q3 as he had choosen a lighter fuel load. Hamilton was to be released 2nd. When the green lights went on and Q3 began Hamilton ignored team orders and left the McLaren garage 1st. This went on to hinder Alonso's strategy. Despite numerous radio calls from the pit ordering Hamilton to allow Alonso through he did not respond. Prompting a very angry Alonso to take the aforementioned actions in the pitlane.

Continued....

The unfortunate thing from this is that Alosno is mad to look like the bad guy as we could all see what he did live on TV. No one sitting at home was able to tell that the thing that triggered this was Hamiltons stubborness to abide by the teams pre-race strategy.

wow! . . . sounds like 'undermining alonso' is a sport all on its own, he must be better than we all thought, if ferrari adopt the 'schumacher model' with him and give him a proper car, more titles may follow!

Well, we finally have the driver who will do "anything" to win in the team that will do "anything" to win. Should be an interesting few years seeing what they get up to.

Richard. I gave you credit three days ago when the story ran on a number of web sites. I even asked Crash to start a Bernie Book thread. Three days later we get a story. And yes I can confirm that Richard shared this story with me over a year ago. I believed it then and I believe it now. Telfonso has been involved in more crap than any driver outside of MS in the history of the sport. He still has Max on speed dial. And still swears he knows NOTHING.

Is anyone else tired of British tabloid tactics when covering Formula 1? Alonso was looking for respect at McLaren and I guarantee he got very little (if any), and favoritism played into Lewis' hands early in that relationship. Good for Alonso to fight back! I know everyone in the UK was hoping he'd play little brother second fiddle to Lewis, but a champion shouldn't ever have to take any **** behind closed doors, which was DEFINITELY happening. This "revelation" was written by a Brit, for rabid British and pro-Hamilton audience about the all-Brit outfit at Mclaren. Bias? This isn't news: it's retarded punditry.
