merc has a new front wing. maybe this is helping, although haug is still saying that they are off pace. schumi probably on softs, but still an impressive time. but when you realise that the lap record for barca is in the 1.14s. and two years ago, brawn were running in the 1.19s, there is stilla long way to go for all teams.

Isn't it hilarious when the anti Schumi brigade give a thumbs down to ACTUAL TIMES RECORDED.Shows what a load of muffin heads they are.

@Richard, the track layout was changed in 2007 to include a slow chicane between the last two fast corners, which inceased laptimes by a sizeable amount. The lap record in race conditions on the new configuration is 1:21.6, set by Raikkonen in 2008 before the refuelling ban. Considering that 2008 was the last season before the aero reductions in the regulations, the lap times these guys are putting out in testing are pretty respectable.
