The BBC has allegedy included F1 among candidates for the axe in a bid to cut the amount it spends on sports programming by £60m a year.

It would be in the best interest of Bernie and co to keep F1 on the Beeb, if you were one of the sponsors on the F1 car, you rather logo be seen and associated with by the millions watching on free to air, rather than the thousands on pay tv.

Don't have money?
I was on BBC boards during some races last year and made some reading there. The level of the professional broadcast, their comments were on baby level.
The main trend were journalist by themselves nor F1 as a sport neither professional comments.
Just next low level show about all and nothing but far, far away from the spectrum.
More professional informations I found here, among some comments.

If this happens I will be genuinely gutted. Call me sad, but I look forward to getting home from work and clicking the red button for practice sessions. I think the BBC do a good job and its FREE FROM ADVERTS. Something I just cant understand in motorsport. You dont throw the adverts on when Barcelona are on an attack? ITV destroyed F1 coverage. BBC have made it right - sure DC can be annoying and lets not forget Eddie Jordan, but on the whole its been great and ive thoroughly enjoyed their coverage and it looks like its going to get better. Get rid of Wimbledon no one from these shores will ever win it, Henman hill....what a joke.

Why is no one blaming Bernie and his goons?

The money he charges tracks and TV for the 'privilege' of hosting F1 is ludicrous!

In fact, it always seemed to me to be the wrong way around. Surely any kind of event should be paying the track or TV station for their use of the track/air time??

I would gladly pay a decent fee for full weekend web streamed coverage, with very limited commentary. I would love to see the whole thing with just open mic.
