perez has surprised me. for a pay driver, i did not expect much, but coupled with what looks like a good chassis, he has posted some fast times, even though we do not know the set up of the car at the time.
lets wait and see how he does, come race day.

The kid is in great shape and is a quick learner. Wish him success in top flight like he did on GP2. Other than history sites, I have never seen the Mexican flag on the F1 grid. That's why this is so special for us.

I was a bit surprised Kobayashi didn't go faster on his qualifying run than Perez even with more rubber on the track than the previous day when Perez did his 1.21.7 considering he also went on near empty tanks and super softs. Considering Perez has had only a few days in F1, that was pretty impressive. Maybe Kobayashi had Japan on his mind
