If you don't smile while you're watching this, well, you're either dead or accidentallty discovered this site. They both looked like they had FUN, and that is what it really is about. When we were young kids, flogging our parents car and doing burnouts, it was fun. Ah the memories. I tell you though, if Bernie gets his way and Melbourne lose the GP, Bathurst should bid all out. Wouldn't that be an iconic event. I'm dreaming of it already!

Well said DTS. The look on Craig Lownes's face as he removes his bone dome is priceless. As for a GP there I have long thought that here is a circuit to sort the men from the boy's. It would never happen though, it's too demanding, to long and not featureless like most other tracks. Drivers would have to work for a living...tut tut can't have that can we?

One of the best tracks i have seen,it reminded me a bit of Spa high up with lots of trees about.Come on Bernie can't we have this as a replacement for Borerain?

Thank you to all involved, I was there and it was the most amazing couple of hours. The crowd was massive, excited and wanting more. Hope it can be repeated soon and run all day. Maybe a full grid of cars for a test day. Thanks again.

Only difference I would have liked to see is, a speedo on Conrod Straight going into the Chase... Would love to see the difference in braking distances between the two vehicles.

Would love to see a complete onboard lap with both jense and craig. Its a pitty that f1 is so consumed with ultra ultra safe tracks that would stop them ever coming to a track like this. But Monaco is still around and i would say its far worse than bathurst for run off etc.

Tim Mt Panorama has Class 1 accreditation from the FIA but fails to have F1 Accreditation which is a pity.

F1Fan: Glad you enjoyed the video.Pity they did not make it longer and show more of the circuit. The video does not give a true reflection of the gradient from top to bottom

CommodereS is correct, Mt Panorama could not get F1 accreditation because of the gradients on the circuit, the inside (racing line) of the "dipper" (the middle of the down hill S bends) is a 1 in 3 drop, so when the cars appear to lift their wheels through there on TV, they are actually 'falling' through the apex.

In the accompanying video you can see Jenson driving around the outside of this corner ....it would be the only way he wouldn't loose his front wing.

Anyway it was a great promotion and about 10,000 people turned up (I was there) the cost was a $1 or $2 donation to charity.
