F1 » Hunt U-turn wishes Team Lotus well

David Hunt appears to have backtracked on his criticism of Tony Fernandes to wish Team Lotus well in its first race since 1994.

@OMG, I actually wished that both of them loses the case and hammer that final nail for Lotus in F1. Neither is truthfully lotus as it already ended the day it was sold to Proton.

Hmmm....

So it would appear that TF has made sure Hunt has been seen alright then...a potentially damaging contract wrangle works wonders! I've been in the TF camp for months now but I don't know, it's looking hazy the whole thing.

However stories emanating from Malaysia suggest Dany Bahar may be overreaching himself and dragging Proton into a financial black hole. TF to own Lotus/Proton anyway? Could yet happen.

Stories coming out of Malaysia say Fernandes team's are in financial difficulties.

Fernandes supporters in Malaysia were already nervous and now after this weekends disastrous results will be even more and all this after so much was promised. There is only so much spin anyone can take. Gascoyne stated Sauber were an easy target for them, Saubers 10 points will put them out of sight for the rest of the season.

Be fair, Proton have kept the Lotus name going for years with their road cars and have kept Lotus in other classes of racing. You can't say that Lotus Cars cannot use their own name in car racing. Boullier, The Lotus (Proton) team boss also said they didn't want to be called "Team Lotus" because they accept that Team Lotus was of a previous era and are not trying to claim heritage. That doesn't mean they think its okay for 1MRT to enter as Team Lotus. It means they don't think anyone should be calling themselves Team Lotus. No-one is entitled to call themsleves the continuation of Chapman's team.

@Alan D

It would be easier to understand you if you referred to Boullier as the Renault team boss. Anyway, Renault didn't call themselves Team Lotus because they aren't allowed to. Tony Fernands however, can.

When the judge in the ongoing court case reads of Hunt turning against Fernandes then doing a U turn he will realise how that came about and that they are a bunch of con men and rule for Proton/Real Lotus.

The Team is for sale the Lotus name makes it worth 10 x more
