F1 » Hamilton: Alonso my nemesis, Prost to my Senna

In a comment that is sure to generate debate, Lewis Hamilton has compared himself and Fernando Alonso to a modern-day Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost. And Sebastian Vettel? A poor man's Nigel Mansell...

Completely agree with Lewis - The Red Bull car and arguably Adrian Newey are the stars of the show, *Not Vettel*, who is definitely not over a second per lap quicker than ANY other driver on the grid.... (without his superior car)

I would love to see Lewis and Vettel switch cars for one race and then watch Lewis romp to a victory, whilst Vettel finishes behind Jenson Button and Mark Webber in the 2nd McLaren and Red Bull and in all likeliehood, behind the nemesis Alonso in his Ferrari............?

Who dose hamilton think he is, he will never be a patch on Ayrton Senna, what an arrogant ****,he is only where he is because he had a sugar daddy, Ron Dennis, unlike all the other drivers on the grid who started with lower teams and served their time learning their trade, not being put straight into a top car, like hamilton.

The guy's mouth bigger than his brains.
And he is too young to recall what margin Mansell's Williams FW14B had over his rivals. 4 doubles in 5 races. I have no doubt that Mansell was a great driver, but is Hamilton really Senna?

Reply to Dave Calton -

Hamilton was promoted to F1 after his massive success in GP2 (after learning his trade there)

Although contracted to Mclaren (a top team) other teams had expressed their interest in Lewis too.
If I remember correctly, Ron Dennis only had to decide whether Lewis's chance would be with McLaren, or some other team on the grid???

And then he became the best rookie in F1 ever

FACT! - pushed his illustrious nemesis team mate all the way to joint second in the championship (one point behind the eventual winner)

FACT! He is not a Senna,

Opinion - He's a bloody good racer and probably the best out there today?

Did you read the article? Where in the article did he compare himself with Senna?
The question he was asked was..
If you were to say 'choose a driver "that I would like to be", I would clearly choose Ayrton. And maybe I would put him as Prost.”
Now where did he say he is like Senna.?

Arrogant, immature, deluded. So an F1 driver.... ut he has been successfull when the car has been awesome. Like alot of gifted drivers he has shown brilliance when frustrated with an average car. How trumped up and vein do you have to be to compare yourself to past legendary drivers? Vettel is a little worm but he was shockingly quick in lesser cars. Trash talk is all this is but still.. LH is just a disrespectful brat!
