Kimi being Kimi... Not for money, no intrigue, he just wants to. Someone said it perfectly earlier that Kimi was less of an F1 fan than most on this board. And to everyone trying to act offended, he's probably not gonna miss you very much over here, nothing personal really.

Probably also figured he'd give it a shot because it's the least likely place circus animals like lulu would follow him to.

What are you on about MichaelE?

"Waste of talent"? And exactly how?

I don't know in which world you live in, but in the real world, Kimi essentially got fired from Ferrari as they found someone "better", who - looking at the facts - to this date has not achieved anything at Ferrari yet when Kimi won the title on his debut season, but whatever. Yes. Images rule the planet.

It's the fact that he'd been spat on in F1 for years plus getting fired from Ferrari that made Kimi say "enough of F1 now, thanks".

"Waste of talent" does not apply to this situation. They practically threw him out of F1 (Ferrari paid him extra to NOT race in F1). So there.
The man simply took his talent elsewhere, where he is liked and wanted.

He probably signed up to race a truck like... an F-150 because he doesn't follow the F1 news and doesn't know that the F-150 they're talking about is NOT the new Ferrari.

Man, when he sobers up he's gonna be MAD!!

@f1fan - I love motor racing, period. NASCAR is at the bottom of the pole, no doubt! But as a family day out, the circus like spectacle is fun. I will always believe that to win a bump and draft race, the crew chief and tuners matter more than the driver. Put a brick on the accelerator, wedge your knee under the steering wheel and enjoy , yawn, the ride. If your crew got it right, you won't under-steer, scrub off speed or plow into the wall.Put the good-ol boys on a road course with a purpose built open wheeled car, give-em all the practice time that they need, and they would be lapped inside of lap 5 by any current or retired F1, F2000, CART/IRL, or DTM driver any day any time. Montoya's and (soon) Kimi's talent would suffer atrophy and they would start drinking beer for breakfast.
