Michael Schumacher and Nick Heidfeld were the big casualties of a torrid end to second qualifying in China.

Dear Crash- title should read "Petrov breaks Renault - Again: tries to drive it anyway thus ruining many front runners' Q3 chances"

I know this is sort of the F1 gossip website, but even here this article seems a little contrived, whatever as the saying goes, "if you aren't better than someone, try hitting em when theyre down..."

How about this title instead?: Petrov stalls his car in the middle of the F..... track ruining everybody's flying lap?..... and I agree with Rubens, Petrov should be penalized for stopping the car in a dangerous zone, he could have easily stopped it next to the wall on the left or on the gravel to the right.

you two previous posters should listen properly, petrov had no choice where to park his car he lost hydraulic pressure suddenly, no hydraulics, no nothing and jammed in gear its going nowhere. schumacher just cannot cut it anymore he should have stayed away because he is ruining an illustriuos career.

schumacher is history as bob said, he's far to old for the job, when he retired back in '06 he had a faster better car then alonso had and he still lost the championship, what was he thinking when he said that is going to win another f1 championship i have no idea, he'll never be on f1 podium never again, remember nigel mansel did the same mistake he retired from f1 than got back and he's result, yes you've guested jack squat, and that's exactly what schumi will get from he's return

Just re-watched the quali as I overslept to watch it live (doh!)

To be fair, you cannot say Schuy lost out on merit.... his best time in Q2 was 1 second slower than in Q1 - with only 2 minutes left then either a) the pressure got to him b) traffic affected him.

Eitherway you normally go faster as the sessions go along (unless raining) so to go 1 second slower than in Q1....

I'm an avid supporter of MS for the past20 years... but i'm growing increasingly frustrated with him.

I would've thought that if Nico can make Q3 then MS should be there somewhere near him, as he's been for the past 2 races (not mentioning last season).

His experience should also count for him... he seems to not even make use of that anymore.

On Swiss TV he's apologised for his mistake, he locked his rear breaks.

So why does it no longer work for you Michael but NR is doing an incredible job with his 1.34 place 4 spot?

arcuid, i hear you but we said the same last year! Surely his mistakes need to be recognised also.

I'm not sure any more, he can be quick but no longer consistently so. His starts are awesome but that wounn't help put him on the podium.

I'm puzzled...

Come on, he needs to friggen get a fantastic result to help him find his mojo... the car seems good, good enough for NR
