F1 » Hamilton: I wasn't 'groomed' for F1

McLaren-Mercedes star Lewis Hamilton dismisses suggestions that he was 'groomed' for F1 from a young age as 'absolute rubbish' - insisting that he 'worked his backside off' to get to where he is today

LH should just ignore all that groomed stuff. The truth is he worked hard for it. Mcl are a serious raceteam and everything is performance related. Mcl are not going to gift a multi-million pound racecar package to someone as a gift. There are some guys in F1 who turn up with millions of pounds behind them and so get drives but LH is not one of those

@ramjam69

His debut season was in 2007 not 2006, where he came second in the championship and lost the title by 1 point, to me that is a chamionship competing car. How many other drivers can you name that have lost the championship by 1 point in there first season in Formula one. He could off won the championship. Therefore he was groomed in Formula one with looking at the results off his first season.

I am not a Lulu fan, but I can appreciate talent. His drive today was measured (not usual for him) and he deserved the win. But I wished he kept his mouth shut. Everytime he opens it he embarrasses himself and his team. McLaren bends over backwards for him and all he does is either bag them out, or takes personal credit for their work. Whilst I'm not a huge Vettel fan either, you never hear that kind of talk from Seb.

Go Webber - Awesome drive mate :-)
