F1 » Hamilton wins, Webber stars at sparkling Shanghai

He had been criticised pre-race for having failed to manage his tyres well in Malaysia last weekend. In China seven days on, Lewis Hamilton was the Pirelli maestro - but it was Mark Webber who stole the show in Shanghai...

It's difficult to be a McHamilton fan whe you have to watch the race on Speed TV. Ceaseless, slavish, praise for Louis and a definite bent for McLaren is truly tedious. An excellent drive from Louis and McLaren.

@theyank: What's tedious about Speed TV coverage is the characterless, passionless, lethargic and torpid delivery of the commentators. None of them hold a candle to Brundle and Coulthard. As for their praise of McHamilton, I just ignore it.

Lewis makes his tyres last longer than an o.a.p drivin a rover 25.
Mark has the red bull wings, not a kerrs in the world.
Forget it all you techno heads as an ex bike racer, you
have to gain ground on the corners if you wana have a go on the straights, its the same for everyone.
Great GP.

Just decided to start my own conspiricy theory..I reckon Mark had Sebs car today to help him catch up seeing as it is supposed to have all the best parts and best driver treatment and RBR felt he needed a bit of help showing there is no favouritism ...ooops I've turned into a Webber bleater...help me!!

The BBC Radio 5 commentary is far better than that on BBC 1. David Croft does get a bit manic when Hamilton gets lucky but Antony Davidson keeps him in check.

A couple of days ago I said that it doesn't really matter where you qualify given the DRS, KERS, and fast degrading tires. It appears that Webber has somewhat proven as much. If the race was a few laps longer he may have won. I get the feeling that it may turn out to be a disadvantage to participate in all three qualifying sessions at some tracks. If this happens the FIA need to allow extra tires for qualifying.

Lewis's win is fully deserved. The pass on Vettel was awesome. Though given the ease of some of the overtaking manouvers these regulations risk taking away some of the value of what it means to overtake another driver. It is now even less about the skill of the driver and more about the condition of the tires or amount of fuel.

Not being Australian certainly saved me the embarrassment of the shameful envy/hatred Mark Webber expressed about his team mate.
It is incredible how RBR tolerates such behaviour from one of it's supposedly team players.
