I saw Jim Clark drive a Lotus Cortina, a Lotus 40 v8 sports car and a Lotus F1 car on the same day!!...in the rain!!!
For me he was just the best, inch perfect lap after lap and so beautifully smooth, I feel truly honoured to have seen him.

For those of us fortunate enough to know Jimmy and spend even a little time with him his quality as a man, almost as much as his sublime talent in any type of race car, made an indelible mark. The perfect driver and a true gentleman - he is deeply missed.

Jim Clark, imho, forms part of the Holy Trinity ...and to that end sits majestically at the proverbial table with Messrs Fangio and Senna.

It also wouldn't hurt, some of the younger contributors here, to read about Ascari Jr and Tazio Nuvolari ...the latter especially.

@ simonc.

I don't think I've ever read or heard a single negative comment about this man. He was indeed a 'great' in every sense of the word! And if you had the pleasure of knowing him Simon ...then indeed you're a lucky, lucky man!

Regards
