F1 » Webber: I got Alonso back in the end!

Mark Webber: In the end it was a good fight with Fernando, you lose a bit of time when you're into each other like that, but it turned out okay and I got him back in the end.

Well Done Mark. Great battle with Alonso never a more determined driver out there, I'm a real fan. Since the first round he's increased his position in the race by one place, so hopefully one step better next time with first. Hopefully that first win of the season will give him the extra confidence to challenge vettel more, i hope so. Good luck for the next round Mark.

If Ferrari manages to challenge Red Bull in qualifying then it will be another story.Alonso's tyres where already used in qualifying because he needed them.In the other hand Red Bull is very fast in qualifying and hasn't the necessity to use extra tyres like the others(especially Ferrari and Renault, speaking about the 5 best teams). If Ferrari manages to resolve this handicap then Red Bull would be in trouble bacause Alonso is outstanding when he is in similar conditions with his rivals. But speaking about Webber it seem that very soon he will be able to jump Hamilton and will be the closer challenger to Vettel, a pity for F1,a repeat of the 2002 and 2004 seasons, sounds to me.

true, ferrari need to sort qualy.

but also for them and mclaren its the pit stops that they are really losing the race. red bulls stops are 3-3.5 seconds. ferrari and mclaren are all usually over 4.5 Seconds. They are giving away free time to a car that is already quicker anyway. To beat them they can afford to give away silly time like that. lewis and fernando especially are doing there bit to keep pace they need their team to match red bull in this area. as there is no reason not to be as good.

Quick Mark, kill yourself now! How can you live being No 2 to a talent like Vettel? Didn't all of Shuey's teamates kill themselves so they didn't have to live with the shame? But then again, you probably have a good laugh at the armchair experts on these forums who think being one of the top drivers in the world is not good enough because Vettel is currently trouncing everybody.

quote:He has a number 2 on his car and hat for a reason
And that is because Seb lucked the the #1 before his time, due to Ferrari ineptitude. The team therefore must have 1 & 2 on its cars. Numbers mean diddly
