mr. sekptical - The problem is that it comes from McLaren, far too often, and McLaren has a very fast car. To top it off, the race winner did not have his KERS working which can be as good as 4 10ths of a second per lap. It comes down to driving skills in the end. Saying that RB has an advantage in quali is as good as saying that you are looking for an excuse, case in point, Ferdi sprinting past lala, button, Webb and Sabina-One-Finger.

I would agree with that but the fact is that Redbull as a team are the last to complain about the advantages (typically straight-line speed)of their rivals. The redbull cars are winning races through balance and corner speed (and a touch of strategy). The others have obviously gone slightly in another direction, seeking higher top speed aero advantage at the cost of balance and corner speed as opposed to the holistic approach Newey has taken to making the total package as balanced as possible. I think this makes it easier to get the cars on pace track to track and focus on that last little bit of setup instead of chasing it all weekend. The commentators were saying that McLaren brought as many as ten new aero parts to test (some for Monaco) that all takes time and resources.

fiddy.. McL not complaining about the Red Bull EBD. They are trying to match it. And the KERS on Vettels car worked for the last three laps and many laps during the race. Driving skills are fine but during qualifying Vettel could use the DRS in the corners. The Red Bull car is superior to the rest with it's downforce.

50 cent that's understood. I'm just commenting to Trouser Chill's post. Any driver in whether it's Hamilton or Alonslow will be asked by jornos on Red Bull's advantage since they are the team to beat.

Maybe the questions should be rephrased. I've never heard RB complaining, looking for excuses, about their straight line speed and their KERS. Everybody is focusing on advantage of RB. I think, after today, especially after today, they should be really looking at the driver making all the difference. McLaren was faster today in the race trim yet they did not capitalize on it. I'm not a fan of Sabina but I give credit where credit is due.

Well done to Seb for managing to hold off Lewis, well done to Lewis for driving such a brilliant race and making it so exciting to watch and well done to Jenson for driving what i think was one of his best races and for getting past Alonso and Webber, just great stuff!

The Mclaren looks potentially faster and stronger than ever, well done to Seb for holding the TRUE raging bull of Lewis behind,he drove his heart out.
Jenson great stuff too.
Once the Mercedes get the balance right, you will be hearing the German anthem again but for a different driver. They are not that far behind.

Well, getting past Alonso should have been really easy today, he was not even in the same lap, must have been a tremendous humilation for him considering this was his home race.
I doubt he will accomplish another WC title as long as Seb and Lulu are racing in F1...
