F1 » Lewis: Only I can beat Vettel - even in a slower car

Rarely short on self-confidence, a bullish Lewis Hamilton has claimed that right now, he is 'the only person who has an answer to Sebastian Vettel' in F1 2011 - and he is fired-up to turn the tables on his Red Bull Racing rival

This is so media-dressed up.

If you read specifically Hamilton's direct quotes.. he says nothing wrong or untrue. He is just saying what has happened and how things currently are AT THE MOMEMT. Its true that he has through most of the races so far put the closest pressure on vettel, Lewis has also been the only other driver to win and to beat vettel so far.

The only arrogance in this story is from the words used by the writers of this story.

It seems like the british media especially like to stoke up Lewis' comments, comments which were answers to specific questions made by the reporters. Lewis is a very confident guy so they know that can make him out to be more controversial and headline grabbing.

@Rob01 - He is claiming that three drivers blocked him in Spain but none of it was seen in the footage. I guess it is easier to blame others than to accept that he was not able to beat the finger. He must be affraid of Schumacher if he is not even willing to discuss the supposed block with him. His criticisms of "wasting his breath" surely will not win him any favors in the future. It is funny that he is claiming to be the best yet he has to play the victim card when he can't get the job done.

Rob01,i thought it was to good to be true. Mark,i don't think Lewis would just make this blocking thing up and yes we never saw any of this so called incident on the telly so no one knows if it really did happen,i wish the pair of them would just make up so we can just forget about it all and it's not right having Mercedes and Mclaren drivers arguing with each other, especially as they are both world champions.

I remember prior to the 2008 Hungarian GP, Hamilton told the press that nobody will ever drive around the outside of him.

Tragically, Massa went and did it at the first corner at the same GP, a few days later. No doubt this has been blown up slightly but still!

Freud would have had a field day with this guy, much Like Vettel is now. "

BOOYAAAH! Well done, sir. :)

As to the article, it's the same old same old. Hamilton's ego forces him to throw the "slower car"-line at every corner even though there are 20 guys out there keeping their mouth shut who would love to be in his car.

Now, que MichaelE and his "RBR were 1 sec faster in Barcelona"-crap. Funny how Button (10th after lap 1) beat Webber (3rd) with such an inferior car. You cannot underestimate the power of imagination when it come to Hamiltoniacs and their Messiah. :)
