the name sounds good - Team Lotus but I'm sure Malaysia F1 Racing using Renault engines would be better (while there is another Reanult Lotus team) and vice versa Lotus Renault for me is sort of mutant name neither it sound Lotus nor Renault and for me it's just Renault...still. Lotus and Renault brand in general have missed somehing even appearing on four F1 cars. Renault only gains from Red Bull results.

You've gone on about heritage many times in the past Richard and yes the only true Team Lotus would be the one that continued from 1994. It also shows the murkiness of the case (licence agreements).

However heritage in today's world is not what it was. How many F1 teams today have had different incarnations over the years. I would argue the only true heritage in f1 is Williams and Ferrari.

I care a great deal about the heritage of F1.

If I had an airline & a few billion lying around, I'd buy the Tyrrell name (most likely from Mercedes GP now) & reintroduce it into F1 to honour uncle Ken's efforts, & because it would just be great to see a Tyrrell GP car running around the track again.

No doubt you'd be on here giving us a thousand reasons why it wouldn't be the real Tyrrell team though.

I have just read the press release and still cannot work out who has won. Lotus Group is claiming victory but team Lotus can still race under the Lotus name WTF? It just ruins the reputation of the real Lotus under Chapman. Not good
