This will rumble on until one of the teams has definitive legal rights to name their chassis 'Lotus' I'm afraid.

Or Team Lotus name their chassis "Team Lotus" and Group Lotus have the right to call their chassis "Lotus" at some point in the future.

dale. lotus cars have actually bought into the team! but you could also make the same comment about virgin. it is quite acceptable to call your car after the title sponsor!
but i agree that nobody won, and what has been missed is the fact that fernandes was not successful in coercing millions out of renault! and he has to pay costs! i think that this will go further, particularily if lotus car have the badge copyrighted.

skeptical. did you miss the story when fernandes said that if lotus cars paid him (i thinkk)$30m, then he would r=drop the lotus claim? this was after lotus cars had offered $9m. and you think that he was not in it for the money??

In the words of the judge,

F1 and they would be interested to see which of the two Lotus cars was more successful and which then might possibly be better placed to claim to be successors to the Colin Chapman mantle.

That sums it up for me let the on track success decide who can represent Colin Chapman..simple really

The judge should have made this one of the conditions..That would have shut-up the Fernades money grabber

Its all about money they cant race or score points so they go for the money what a rubbish team no points in 2 seasons
