F1 » Stewart: Hamilton lucky to get away as lightly as he did in Monaco

Lewis Hamilton might have been aggrieved by the penalties he received in Monaco, but Sir Jackie Stewart contends that the McLaren-Mercedes star arguably got off lightly - and that he needs to learn to control his tongue...

The ability to 'hold his tongue' seems to be one of his major issues, if he spent less time giving his oppinion on everything, he may be able to spend more time listening, and that is usually when he would be a little more receptive to learning! Unless as has been pointed out he already knows everything!

Lewis Hamilton had apologised to Felipe Massa and Pastor Maldonado for remarks made following their accidents in Monaco

The McLaren driver had previously criticised the pair, calling his rivals "ridiculous" and adding that the duo closed the door on him when he felt he already had his nose in front.

However, the Briton has taken to Twitter to express his regret at the situation.

"To Massa and Maldonado, with the greatest respect I apologise if I offended you. Both of you are fantastic drivers who I regard highly," he wrote.

I don't claim to be an expert but as an ardent armchair fanatic of F1, it seems that there are three types of overtaking manoeuvre-
(1)'good clean safe overtaking manoeuvres',
(2)'bold and daring overtaking manoeuvres', and
(3)'plain stupid an-accident-waiting-to-happen overtaking manoeuvres'.

If I understand Sir Jackie correctly, it seems what may be a category 2 at most other tracks will often fall into category 3 at Monaco. So someone, like Lewis, who is often seen as a bold and daring driver in his racing style will find himself looking just plain stupid at Monaco if he doesn't moderate his driving style for that circuit.

"Twitter to express his regret at the situation." Are you serious RobO? Twitting to issue an appology after you ruined somebody's race... Might as well not do anything,as a matter of fact he's got Massas' and Maldonado's cell, why not text them... Wander who gave him that lame advice.

The problem is he thinks he is just like Senna just because Senna is his idol and he so is NOT. He Blamed Massa for the accident? What planet is he on? Lewis Hamilton is a SORE LOSER!!
