A disgrace. There are still saudi troops in Bahrain. They have been destroying places of worship and helping to arrest and inter anyone against the ruling elite. No way should the GP circus be travelling there. Many of the medical staff who would be at the circuit have been arrested, beaten and have now Dissapeared. not the year to hold the GP. I do hope the viewing figures are down.
Nothing but a bernie money making event.

Pittyfull. I hope the drivers boycot it. Come on Mark your the drivers delegate. A little bit of solidarity amoungst the drivers will go a long way and certainly wont do the sport any harm.
However, as someone previously surgested it will be more likley it will be the teams under presure of the sponsors not wanting to be asociated with this farst.

Phil- the Saudi troops you are refering to are part of the Gulf shield that Bahrain requested. Not just Saudi troops are in Bahrain, troops from UAE are here too and navy ships are guarding the Bahraini waters from Irani threats.

The gulf shield particapated in the gulf war and is part of the defence agreements between the GCC countries which include Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, and Oman.

They are here as a precaution from the threat of Iran getting involved. So it makes us feel safe that they are here.

what matters first and full most is its safe in Bahrain like it has always been.

I persoanlly can leave my car running with the keys in and not worry it being stealing. Thats how safe it is.

And for anything else, there is no proof live ammo was used other than tear gas. Im from Bahrain and know what the authorities are authorised to use. Anything else are lies and dont tell me someone 1000 of miles away know more about my country than its own citizen. The reports broadcasted are biased since it just reports what those against the Govt want to be broadcasted. Ever hear about the 2 policemen that got killed? Ever hear about the 9 policemen that got run over? Ever hear about the policemen that got kidnapped. No. Thats just proves the reports were biased. Yet its lead to belive that people were shot and there is not 1 video that shows that.

mrk,
Mixing politics with sports?

Fair enough. How come f1 goes to the US when it has prisoners for 10 years in jail without them being charged @ Guantanamo Bay?

F1 goes to china and dont tell me China has a better human rights record than Bahrain. I can go on and on. Bottom line, Bahrain is safe or else i would have left a long time ago.
