F1 » Mosley predicts no Bahrain race, as Bernie seeks rethink

be no Bahrain GP without the unanimous approval of all twelve F1 teams - while Bernie Ecclestone is apparently attempting to urge them to vote against the race.

@pitstop

They'll just have one less race and the teams have a few weeks extra off.

I can't see high profile teams like Ferrari, McLaren & Merc wanting to do that race. See what come soutof the FOTA statement.

It seems the original vote was to satisfy various Bahraini officials of the FIA's ability to ignore what's going on. The FIA can now blame the teams for the cancelation and claim their hands are free of what has transpired.

reports are that the vote in wmsc was unanimous, and that ferrari, force india and merc have all said they will attend, if the race is on. it goes without saying that mclaren will also be there.

if the race proceeds, i have no doubt that one or two of the backmarkers will not turn up, citing consience, when in fact they would be saving expense!

I really do think, just for once, Bernie has stuck his head into the real world and been shocked by the reaction to last week's announcement. At least give him credit for that.

It's the teams fault as well. They gave the nod to rescheduling. The same as they gave the nod to the new engine formula. Back pedaling and poor governing is making a mockery of the sport. Now Max is helping them out like old times. F1 and FIA are looking sad at the moment.

Although McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes will all push hard to keep the race over ownership and industry concerns, I don't see a major Bahraini sponsor for Red Bull, Renault or the Cossie-powered minnows...

Here's your chance to contribute, HRT! Veto that sucker!
