F1 » Hamilton: It's finished; we can't beat Red Bull

After taking the chequered flag a distant and disgruntled fourth in Valencia, Lewis Hamilton fears McLaren-Mercedes is set to 'take another step backwards' - and that his F1 2011 title hopes are now 'finished'

They need to ban Adrian Newey. He is just too good and with Seb now doing an excellent job it is ruining the championship. The racing for second place could still be exciting though, I guess, even if it is a bit like kissing your sister.

Lewis needs a good dose of perspective. Perhaps a couple of years with a new team would do him good. Maybe HRT, Virgin, Lotus, or even Williams will help him rediscover that he has so far led a charmed existence in F1.

it seems to be enough for some teams to be able to stay ahead. you cannot restrict in season testing to those who are behind. the front runners have to be allowed the same facilities.

More in season testing would be good for alot of motorsports (F1, Moto GP) to allow more development. Seems like whoever rolls out the machine with an advantage at the first round carries it all the way through the season. This level of motorsport is about development and technology, and all the new rule changes (regardless of what cost cutting and green banners they parade them under) are just harming the sport and especially the spectacle. The last thing people want is dull races with leaders wininng by miles. If you look back to the 'golden' era's like the Senna/Mansell battles and the 990cc moto gp era, those were rules that worked ! They need to stop messing.

teams roll out new parts based on wind tunnel data which is a costly affair.. and if the parts don't click on Friday, It's all waste in terms of both money and development..just an opinion

correct, all things are relative and he knows not from misery. i can see how being on a team that's "close" can make things frustrating. especially having tasted full victory. it's you're kinda there...? but then you're not there. so close, but yet so far. :( the bitter irony is if he were in say...? a Lotus from the off, there would be no expectation.
