It is about time the the FIA and Bernie sat down and listen to the fans, and ask them what they really want out of Formula One!
End of the day it is the fans that flock to the races and the pay good money to go there!
There is FOTA, so there should an association in place to represent the fans, so they can be heard and have an influence and saying on the sport too!

"what people want when they go to F1 races (is) glamour and noise" ???

So you can replace cars and races by loudspeakers and sexy girls, you'll sell more tickets ?!?!?

Anybody tried a headset to hear the difference between 15 and 18k engine revs? Check an old F1 youtube clip and compare to today.
Rev level (hz) has nothing to do with noise level (dB).
F1 is loud (always has been by the way and it should) and i expect that lower revs bring back engine "sound" so you would be able to hear again (finally) which car passes with your eyes closed..
I personally would see that add to the sport more than just another anonymous higher pitch. Like you are able to distinguish a 458 from an M3 or a GT3 but on F1 level..
Sorry Bernie but i don't get your argumentation here..

Turbocharged engines are obviously going to sound different and maybe a little quieter however any unit with a straight through exhaust system is going to make a lot of noise. The 1.5 Turbo units of the past sounded ok.
As long as F1 is quicker than anything else then all is how it should be.

Dave Smith obviously has a better memory than The Midget.................

So bring back turbo and non-turbo cars, Ground-effect, big wings, and all those lovely things which made F1 so great (and INTERESTING) 25 years ago..................!!!

Good shout Poison and Dave Smith.
The good old days when Senna, prost, Piquet, Berger, Fabi, Lauda, Albereto, Johansson, Arnoux were racing in the turbos!
And they had the 3.0ltr in a different class racing at the same time!
Great days they were too!

I doubt circuits would drop F1 in favor of s**** IndyCar or sg, but that said, who needs FIA? F1 should simply abandon FIA and make another organization for themselves with their own rules. LOL, I imagine Todt's face if that happened.
