F1 » Webber sets top British GP Friday practice time

Mark Webber: It's normal for Silverstone to have difficult conditions, as the rain showers come fast and the wind is high, so the conditions can change quite quickly. We got some good information on the intermediate tyres today, I did all my running on one set. Hopefully we can try the dry tyres tomorrow.

@ pitstop

Actually Webber is almost 80 points behind his teammate. That is pretty bad.

I'm a fan of Webber, but you aussies need to take it easy. He didn't even win the races where Vettel's KERS system failed.

Webber has definitely had his share of mechanical issues this year, but I don't think it has been anywhere near as bad as the start of Vettel's season last year and he took the championship.

#2,i am not an Aussie i am a Brit, and i would'nt be at all surprised if Mark actually beats Seb on Sunday as he has'nt forgotten what happened here last year regarding that wing.

Talk about crap waste of money technology like EBD - look at the photo - where is Webbers feet located - how can he drive that contraption at all let alone that fast.

Crap ugly usless throw away cars that cant be enjoyed at club level after F1 even by a WDC owner.

Great balls of fire! Another stuff-up! They sent Webber out on wets,he was supposed to get slicks. I bet they don't make that mistake again.

Good to see Mark doing well, but it's only practice, and very few drivers were taking it seriously.
I do hope that it rains on the weekend, it really tests the drivers, though it makes the pole sitter practically unassailable. Still, Schumacher showed a lot in the rain, as did Webber, Alonso and Button.
Should be a good race.

The race isn't won on Friday. I am an Aussie, and a Webber fan, and realistic. However, this is probably the track for Mark to give it to Seb. It's Marks second 'home' GP and he has an affinity for this track. I am quietly confident, however, I have been other times this year and have been left disappointed. I've got the beers ready and plenty of fingernails left to chew.

Remember to watch out for our other hopeful DR. You can take the boy out of Duncraig but you can't take the Duncraig out of the boy!

Also, take it easy on those beers so you can remember the race afterwards.
