F1 » Alonso: Silverstone win a wonderful surprise!

Fernanodo Alonso: The team did an amazing job and I dedicate this win to everyone at Maranello and at the track, whose work has allowed me and Felipe [Massa] to drive such a good car.

The win kind of fell into his lap with the dodgy stop for vettel, but once he got the oppertunity he absolutely nailed it, didnt lose his cool when hamilton passed him, an excellent display of controlled aggression, top job and driver of the day, and the team who kept quiet and just worked hard while others were making headlines, ferrari deserved there reward today!

Preface: I like Vettel but at this point I like seeing him NOT win races.

I have never liked Alonso but it was good to see him and Ferrari take first at Silverstone. Alonso has fought well and CLEAN all year for once, so is deserving of accolades.
Ferrari has struggled but fought well to bring the originally lousy F150 up to being a competitive car.

Congrats to both Ferrari and Alonso for the win.
A bit of luck came their way as well, of course, with Vettel having some problems today... without which the result might have been the usual.

what was a surpise was that tool of a monarch only talking to Martin Brundle about cheering on LH and JB and completely ignoring Paul di Resta. must have the Italian name that through him, had it been a German name he might have thought he was British, but hey the tool is Hewitt's son not Charlie's.
Even when Brundle corrected him he still didn't mention Paul, so he a deaf tool.

Certainly a day for the cock-up in the box, no, not the royal box, but the pits, JB, SV and worst off all PDR, he missed out on a possible 7th, through stupidity.

I had my reservations when Ferrari signed Alonso, I didnt think he had it in him to be the team player that Ferrari always demand but I was wrong, he has been the perfect employee. He has been given a pretty dodgy car during most of his time at The Scuderia but has never complained, he has stuck with it and tried to lead the team without whinging. Well done Fernando, you are a class act and a worthy successor to the great Ferrari drivers that have gone before.

Didn't find this race very thrilling really...bit boring maybe...

Maybe I just hated the DRS passes in this race. Kind of wrecked the race for me, that is not racing in my opinion.

Hats off to Alonso a great drive by a great driver.
Just goes to show just like towards the end of last season when the car is competitive Alonso is just a class above Shamilton and is more than capable of taking the fight to Redbull, it'll make interesting 2nd half of the season if he can take another 2-3 wins in a row.

Webber had his chance on Vettel through woodcote.

But was a whimp.
Webber lost touch at chapel too.

He didn't get the job done regardless of orders.
B-Grade driver.
