F1 » Vettel 'could be one of the best of all time'

Such is his current vein of form and Red Bull Racing's future prospects that Sebastian Vettel could swiftly establish himself as one of F1's all-time greats, believes Jody Scheckter - whilst Lewis Hamilton is generally a 'hero' rather than an 'idiot', he insists

last race i saw i remember very clearly how vettle got stuck behind hamilton who was on a car a second slower and could not pass with the best car on the grid. had to enter in the pits to pass. i also remember how he cracked when button was breathing down his neck. are you kidding me? give his car to any other driver on the grid and they too will be winning races and aspiring for the drivers title.

The only person vettel can be compared to at this point in time is webber. Unless he starts winning a less dominating car there is no way he is one of the all time greats.

If Red Bull keeps the same degree of dominance that they have enjoyed over the last couple of seasons with Vettel at the helm, then yes he most probably will go down as one of the all-time greats. But a lot of F1 fans will say " but he had the fastest car".

Love him or hate him Lewis is the most exciting driver in F1 today and i wouldn't want him to change his driving style, but he is finding the Vettel RB7 combination a bridge to far along with the Mclaren team who seems to have lost the plot regards basic strategic calls lately.

g6 Vettel was stuck behind Hamilton at race pace and silverstone is difficult to pass on. Webber passed Hamilton whilst Hamilton was in fuel saving mode and by his own admission had to let Webber past. At the end of the race Webber himself whilst ignoring team orders could not get past Vettel and also admitted this.

riley. good point, and to expand further, we have seen a lot of instances this year, where drivers , rather than make a risky move, tail another car knowing they will get clear air when it pits, exactly as vettel did with lulu. it is all part of the strategy. seb made no wild moves to pas lulu, just bided his time. a sensible decision .

seb is young, and there is no knowing as to whether or not he will become a great, only time will tell.
