F1 » Chandhok replaces Trulli at Lotus for German GP

Karun Chandhok is to be given his race chance in F1 2011 sooner than anticipated after Team Lotus announced that the Indian will replace Jarno Trulli in this weekend's German Grand Prix at the Nürburgring

This could turn out to be a very costly mistake by Team Lotus, Nurburgring's weather is as unpredictable as Spa, Silverstone. With the weather mixing things up Jarno could have been in with a chance of a points finish, but I'm afraid Chandhok is not up to it.
Is Jarno being punished for speaking out about this underperforming race car, or is it about money again if so it undervalues F1 yet again

dave. jarno has been pacing kovi, so is hardly a journeyman. further at present he is in process of re-signing with f1 malaysia for 2012. chandhoks one off is due to the money he is paying for the drive, money that the team need to pay jarno next year! any chance the team has for 2012, is to continue with two known entities, who are both driving out of their skins to try and make an uncompetitive car, competitive

Jarno the one lap wonder is regularly outpaced by Kovi not known for his one lap pace. Clearly no longer what he was.
Karun will be race rusty so will be lucky to near Kovi, but if he is it will be an exceptional effort.

Good points made by Alex and Richard. Artov - Jarno got known as this 'one lap wonder' as you put it by regularly qualifying a car much further up the grid than it should be - he was far better than the car he was in - hence the stupd 'Trulli train' crap that Brundle came out with - and should know better. It was his skill that got the crappy Toyota up there in the first place.
Indian money has got Karun in the car for here and India. It has been Jarno's development that is getting the car moving forward - ask Mike gascoyne who he trusts most in his cars....

Do you all think Gascoyne would want Chandhok in the car if they had scored points this season and had any chance of points this weekend, of course not. I just hope the weather does play a part and HRT or Virgin get into the points.

Karun maybe a nice fellow and it nice for him to have his moment of fame but dont compare him with Trulli use some common sense.

Kovalainen is overated and has settled for the easy life driving this car around at the back of the field under no pressure because all his team know the car is a bag of sh1t if he was any good Renault would have used him.
At least Trulli tells them how it is and look what thats got him replaced by a muppet
