DTS, I was surprised that there was no safety car for that, Vettel had to swerve leaving the pits to avoid the recovery vehicle. And WTF was that explosion all about? I thought it might be KERS related but Eric Boullier was blaming Nick for holding it on the rev limit during the pitstop (I think) and the exhaust or engine blowing up!
There's a fan vid on the web that shows a marshall bravely spraying his fire extinguisher at the front wing, just about the only part of the car that wasn't on fire lol.

Hammo def would have won that race if it were not for the fact he couldn't manage his tyres, cope with the conditions, make the right calls when needed, stay on the track, not spin dangerously in traffic, so getting a penalty. It's just a great conspiracy against Hammo between Macca, Whitmarsh, the FIA, Ecclestone and every other driver on the grid, oh and the weather too. What chance does the greatest driver in the world have against those odds!!!

clondikemike. nice one! but the truth really was that lulu forgot to get jenson a present for his birthday, and therefore decided to make sure that jenson won. but each time he fouled up, he caught up again and had to make a further boob, just to make sure that jenson won. i think that he was really magnanimous.
re nicks fire. it was said from the start of the season that a bodywork fire, with the fee was always a danger. but nick couldnt hold the engine on the rev limiter, as in the pits, the engine revs have a far lower limit. car actually ignited whilst it was stopped for tyres.

Indeed richard, Jens was "gifted" the race, through Hammo's sheer magnamity.
It's just such a shame the guys generosity was extended to Seb and Fernando too. Hammo's biggest fault you know. He never knows when to just stop with the "give, give give".

Actually I have a lot of respect for the guy and he is a through and through racer. But that doesn't relegate others attributes to the dustbin and every racer deserves fair credit when due. No win is "gifted" its earned whoever it is and whoever it is won.

theres alot of lewis bashing going on and it would go on until he retires, i dont know why but i have some reasons, im a realist and yeah i have my favoured driver which is button webber alonso and lewis, for some reason most of the people who visist this site dont really like lewis, which lewis lewis the driver or lewis the person, and any way if ur from uk and watch the bbc coverage of formula 1 than you must have notioced the bias towards vettel, eddie jordan he makes the coverage unberable, he is very biased towards vettel for instance i watched the f1 forum and jake asked a question about button and the reply was ended with vettels name coming out his mouth, eddie said vettel is very intelligent because he finished 2nd, for gods sake he started 2nd so he should finish 1st or 2nd, i could understand why people like vettel, im being honest here his young and his wini

@honest, I do not dislike Lewis, and I can't stand Vettel. However, to call the race card is absurd. Lewis does have his detractors, and I am amongst them when he acts like a spoilt brat. Nonetheless, he is supremely talented, albeit lacking some composure at times. He is a racer. Vettel, the upstart, who just rubs me the wrong way ( the finger gestures...'thats what i'm talking about' etc etc ) is a great driver. Big difference. As for Eddie Jordan, well we all know he's a plonker.

For me the issue is not Lewis but the one eyed supporters who write drivel and make up rediculous stuff about him. Trolls for instance who say, without any substance, that Whitmarsh conspired to hand Button the race over Hammo.
The truth of the matter is Jens and Lewis have completely different approaches as to how they go racing and each has merit and pitfalls. The title of the article is pretty puerile, as I have said there was no gift here. Button earned his win on merit and on this occassion Lewis messed up a couple of times. No conspiracy just racing. Some you win some you don't.
