Richard Daniel is paving his way and not endeavouring to be a instant "Hotshot".

The race at Hungary was not representative but you can be assured their are better things to come.

Qualifying was determined by a hair breadth with Tonio and the practice sessions on long runs substantiated Daniel has the pace.

Also take into account the race was not representative due to Daniel keeping his nose clean and out of troubles way.

In the equation we also have the matter of tyres. Tonio called for inters whilst Daniel persisted. Whose call that was I have no idea but bares relation to your comment.

Play fair in your assumptions

Richard you always appear to jump on young Daniel at every oportunity, wonder why that is, maybe its because you might see him as a future threat to Vettel in the same car, 'if' he was to come in and start beating Vettel can you imagine the look on the German wonder kids face, priceless.

Richard, why so negative? one way of interpreting the words: "If I could manage to sneak out a personal best result or edge out Tonio and the Virgins in a few races that would be a strong result" is that in a few races' time, if he could edge out Liuzzi or the Virgins in a race, that would be great - this shows that he himself realizes Liuzzi had problems in Hungary.

commodore. dr has not shown any abnormal speed in the hrt, and i agree that he had a clean race in hungary. but whereas i dont know about the tyres on tonios car, he was hit from behind, so he may have been hoping to have a clean race too! but what i am getting at is the fact that red bull pushed tonio aside as not being fast enough, so until dr starts regularily trouncing him, it is impossible to assess him.
and as for those who have been saying that i am being negative, look through my posts, i was talking him up earlier in the season. i just believe that going to hrt was not the best of moves, even if it gives him track time. fridays with str was also giving him track time, and gp2 was giving him race time.

Just what exactly is a "straight fight" Rich? In my opinion you make your own luck in any sport, DR beat those guys fair and square because they made mistakes and he didn't.

That's what happens in every aspect of motorsport even up the front, for example Lewis made a mistake and Jensen didn't and that's what created the result. The guy who doesn't make mistakes, or makes less mistakes than his oponent will win in any sports, but even more so at the elite level. Even in qualifying, the top guys don't talk about making up time, they only ever talk about losing time due to making errors. Who the @#$% is dumb enough to spin a car in the pits??????

Mate I am not being difficult but this is part of your comment a couple of days ago which is in contradiction to your above comment.

"then he made the same bad call as webber and ferdi, calling in for inters and having to call in again to revert to slicks."

In addition to Daniels F1 experience he also competes
in the Renault 3.5 series. He is gaining solid experience at a steady rate. In the interview Marko gave us depending on circumstances Daniel would be upgraded to a more competitive car which may not be STR.

We will see what may be announced prior to Spa. I have informed you and the forum of the latest regarding Mark and Daniel but you prefer to disbelieve me so we shall what washes out. Lets just see what happens without unwarranted debate.

commodore. just saw your post. yes, tonio had the spin and damage AND also the wrong call for inters. this delayed him and allowed dr to finish ahead of him. i havent changed what i said! i see now that dr is also saying that he wont be upped to rbr. so i wonder if there are plans to try and place him in a mid field team, with personal sponsorship from rb?

DR being placed in a more competitive team wouldn't surprise me at all richard. as you well know, the talent pool for F1 is fairly shallow and DR is managing to finish races and still do lap times that maybe reflect the capabilities of the car he's got so i'd say they would be nurturing that talent as best they can.
