F1 » Brawn: It's better to be reflecting on the beach

Ross Brawn is confident F1's summer break will be respected - even if creative minds will still be whirring away.

The ONLY thing they have to talk about is next years car. They could/can talk about this years car but it would be just wasting vacation time.

Doesn't anybody think it is hilarious that F1 needs a general "vacation" in the midst of the season? Its not like the season is a full year long! I'd say take the break in the off season when the customer won't notice. In our country, we say you must make hay while the sun shines -- do work in its season. Here we have a bunch of glamour artists all clapping themselves on the back for taking a couple of weeks off in the middle of the season. How very socialistic. Imagine, in any other business, the competitors all colluding to "stop work" for a couple of weeks. Lotsa luck getting that to happen. Lotsa luck with your customers. This shows once again how out of touch with their market F1 really is.

nutty. yes it does appear stupid, but was brought in to "cut costs". however, i doubt that newey et al, switch off their brains, even whilst on the beach. all they need to do is email a design to an outside contractor, and have a part made up, ready for return to work. incidentally, did anyone notice newey having a close look at the ferrari rear end, in hungary?

richard, Newey has a close look at every car on the grid. What you see him looking at depends on the TV coverage.

On the same point, I notice that RBR are still putting guys around the back of the car to stop people peeking. Wonderfully two faced of them to do that while Newey is walking around looking at all the others!
