JV seems to be joining the Mansell club, of slating contemporary f1 drivers.

Yes Jacques Raikkonen was lucky. He was lucky that at that time Mclaren had a titanic battle going on between a double wdc and arguably f1's greatest rookie, a fight which saw them taking important points off each other. Surley if Alonso did not have to contend with a rookie of the calibre of Hamilton he would have been a 3xwdc in 2007, and if Hamilton did not have to compete against a 2xwdc then i'm sure Hamilton would have been a rookie wdc. You see Jacques it was the points cancelling effect at Mclaren that helped the iceman to become the 2007 wdc by a point, that's where he was lucky.

Jacques, you make your own luck in this life. The fact is that Kimi won almost as many races as Hamilton and Alonso combined. And he would most probably have won 7 races, if Hamilton had not taken him out in Canada. Lucky, infact? Lucky my foot!

I guess it's not called silly season for nothing. When everyone is on holiday and some old retired drivers need to sound off and feel important by saying something controversial.

Raikkonen was lucky because of Hakkinen was a countryman in a good car back in 01. Heidfeld was meant to go but it was said that Hakkinen had a word with Dennis. But Villenuave was lucky to hop into the best car, though he did put a fight against the more experienced Hill.

JV is a breath of fresh air. There's so much political correctness with F1 drivers - Hamilton being the exception. Villeneuve speaks his mind and doesn't worry about kissing BE's ass. As for Raikkonen, I can understand any driver feeling he's an undeserving champion. Drivers have lived and died for F1, yet Raikkonen's title meant so little to him he walked away from the world championship. In one sense, he doesn't deserve to be champion because he doesn't care enough about F1.

With regards to Massa, as the media does what it does best - kicking someone when they're down - it's nice to see JV stand up and give the guy some support. I don't agree with his thoughts on 2007 but that isn't what matters.

Some are knocking me the old man for having a little
funnin. True I like F1 as well as the NFL, NBA, and some Soccer (Golf, never). Its just sports, nothing to rap your ass around and get upset. Truth is a constant ignored by all sometime. JV is a magnet for the media he knows how to pull the strings to get attention, and he is not alone. Many names in F1 pull the same strings, nothing new. All the media exploits this position, good press. The next race is what is important. What we read here or anyplace until the flag falls is for the most part, entrainment BS.
Stay Cool Baby, life to short!

This is sad as I don't think this guy would be behaving this way if Gilles had been around to raise him. He should get some sort of therapy so he understands putting others down will not make him feel better for long.
