F1 » Hamilton: Maldonado swiped across me

Lewis Hamilton: I felt a big shunt on the side of the car and through the wheel and the front wing bracket had gone so I think it was quite serious and I think fortunate that neither of us flipped it or had a big, big crash.

Actually Hamilton had to brake... didn't he saw Maldonados flashing lights???

Ejem ejem...

If FIA actually had fined him for his Monaco's blinded driving nothing would had happened now.

Lewisslowed down a lot at the end of the session, so I tried to go past him. I then felt contact at the back of my car. I don't really know what happened. It was a difficult moment, he remarked.

Stop talking rubbish Pastor. you had more then enough room to drive past Lewis. just face it mate you drive in to him deliberately because you didn't like the fact Lewis muscled his way though because of your lack of concentration. just shows you're not mature enough for F1 yet.

The common denominator in most of the accidents we've had this season has been one L. Hamilton, yet somehow the stewards always seem to find a way to find the other driver at fault.

Guess they must be scared of what they will be accused of, as we saw on the only occasion Lewis was properly punished at Monaco.

So much for the FIA's rules about drivers who regularly appear before the stewards being penalised for 'repeat offences'!

Watch the footage carefully, watch what actually happens and not what you want to believe happened.
Lewis Hamilton made 2 (two) sudden and unnecessary moves towards Maldonados car. Maldonado made no moves towards Lewis Hamiltons car. I'm no fan of Maldonado but you cannot blame him for that and expect to be taken seriously.
If you're in any doubt focus your attention on Maldonados car and imagne Lewis driving it and Maldonado in the McLaren, then you'll see the incident as it should be seen.

Its was both there faults so the punishment should be the same. Hamilton instigated it, as usual but maldonado shouldn't have responded. Hamiltons car did seem to drift very slightly towards maldonado when the contact happened which makes me say it was 50/50. But people, if Maldonado was on a hot lap when Hamilton passed him then why was he not penalised for getting in the way as he made contact and Maldonado had track position and Hamilton was overly aggressive again! But the thing that annoyed me the most was the BBC's one sided commentary.

I disaggree with you there Sasha. I saw Lewis pull slightly to the right into the path of Maldonado then he switched back instantly when he realised PM was there. IMHO Maldonado had a swipe back at Lewis as pay back for the earlier incident and caught him.

It was childish from Maldonado, but it would be good if Hamilton actually considered that his actions on track aren't always to the liking of other drivers. I see it as a bit tit for tat after the final chicane and monaco earlier this year. Don't dish it out and expect no one to respond.

personally i thought lewis went over first then maldonado was faster so he went to over take, then the lower camera angle looks like they both met, but lewis did come futher out, i couldnt tell where the dry line was as they were probably both going for the same bit of tarmac. its gonna be fun watching jenson come through tomorrow if conditions are the same.
