I don't think he is a super talented driver but a fairly competitive one.
The thing is though, that you can't turn ON and OFF driver performance like that, so yeah I won't blame Karun for slow run in Germany and perhaps probable slow run in India either.

However, I do blame him for that FP1 crash. At this level you need to be more responsible & not get excited like that.

That said I think he deserved full season at HRT last year. He was not far behind Senna & that experience might have helped him a lot even tho HRT 2010 car was a crap.

I wish him good luck regardless..

@ Twitmarsh

I know, but as we saw with Senna a lot of the smaller teams need some sort of funding to help with development and maybe Chandhok,s drive in India will bring in some funds for the team, only difference between Chandhok and Bruno won looks good and one looks not so good.

Totally agree.
Making Jarno Trulli the fall guy for the extra cash is sad for Trulli and will rob the team of his very valuable input.

elijah i here you, but having an improved and competitive Lotus-Renault driven by Chandhok due to finance coming in to the team because he has a seat would be more beneficial to Lotus than having Trulli drive a car which is going nowhere, sad but this is how f1 is going. The thing is with sponsors you can acquire better engineers and designers and better car components making the car more competitive and attracting companies who will want there brand on your car which would involve a fee thus helping Lotus to progress. But as an f1 fan i would much rather see the best drivers driving than not very good corporate ones.

Actually I don't mind seeing Karun having another shot even in a stonger team than Lotus/Caterham/1Malaysia. He is better driver than Senna and beat him last year in the HRT and if the latter gets a ride in a decent car then why the hell not?
