F1 » F1 2011 POLL: Should Schumacher have received a penalty?

It's time for you to let us know what you thought about the Michael Schumacher/Lewis Hamilton scrap at Monza last weekend. Did 'Schumi' go too far, or did Lewis simply get a dose of his own medicine..?

my only disapointment was that MSC car should have been faster then we won,t have all this talk i don,t understand how manufactors cars are slower then the teams they supply engines to ross need to get in gear.

Derek Daly (Irish but no offence please to any other Irish person reading) is a big shot racer from across the pond,he had 15 points in 64 races in "17 YEARS" no podiums nothing.

According to US F1 fans.He was so bad and said so much garbled rubbish when commentating that in one race they had to cut him off.

The USA fans also said they were shocked when they heard he was one of the stewards in Monza and rolled their eyes, as his party piece is reporting BLOCKING!!
I rest my case.I don't think he will be stewarding again.

Even Scumi knew it was blocking, you just had to see his post race smirky interview to know that. Does he care, no not one jot, never did and never will and it's that selfish streak that helped him become the multiple world champ he is.

i think one of the reasons that MS managed to keep lewis behind for so long, was the fact that MS was running so littel wing.shum new that handeling was not that inportant.it is way to easy to pass with DRS other wise

FFS drop the bias for one moment. I do not support Schumacher in any way but you are allowed to make a defensive move and you can resume the racing line. That was what MS appeared to do.
Pushing LH onto the grass was less than gracious but technically he was ahead so not strictly illegal.

It is true that Michael was holding up Lewis, but if you punish drivers every time when he battles with somebody that nobody will fight anymore. Gilles Villeneuve did pretty much same thing with 4 drivers in Spain in 1981 and he won that race.

Whatever happened to the term "racing", has everyone forgotten what racing means......be better than the guy in front and get past him as well as stay in front and keep the guy behind you there. Man I miss the days of balls out racing where men were men and women, well they stayed off the track. Now we have too much estrogen on the track, and yes I'm still talking about all of the guys on the track. F1 is turning into a cry baby sport.

There is only one point of the sequence that is in question. That is the point where Michael did or did not make two moves to block Lewis. The rest was just on the edge racing, as it should be. In reference to Lewis getting a dose of his own medicine well thats just plain bull---t. Lewis has a record of silly mistakes when overtaking but in fairness e has never really been known for holding up anyone, as Michael has always been renowned for. So that is totally inappropriate. Hard racing yes they are both known for and apart from the questionable two moves moment the rest was just hard racing pushing to the limit of accepted sportsmanship.
