He will be number two driver if he went to ferrari and he will always be number two driver at mclaren for as long as lewis is there,Don't care what anyone says hamilton is number 1 driver in that team and always will be no matter if button wins the championship with them or not, FACT!!!!!!!.

I doubt it will happen but maybe he will go there as a number 2 to try and prove himself against Alonso.

After all he went to McLaren as a so called number 2 and has held his own against Lulu. If he didn't keep screwing up Q3 and the starts he would be a long way ahead of Lewis this season. Look at the last race, Lewis stuck behind MS for 20 laps and Jense there for 3 corners, after another shocking start, all were on the same tyres for the same amount of laps.

He might fancy putting himself up against the so called best all rounder and trying to out race him. After all, team orders can only realistically come in to play if they if they are line astern.

"If he didn't keep screwing up Q3 and the starts he would be a long way ahead of Lewis this season." hahaha are you serious?? This is not a wish list. That's who Button is. There are no ifs and buts here.

But Button is ahead of Hamilton in the Championship with 2 mechanical DNFs and in my opinion being robbed of the fight he was taking to Vettel and Alonso at Monaco? A season where he found his mojo, people always come with this cr*p before a Gran prix weekend, but can't usually say too much against him straight after the race!!

Button's best season ever and he is only leading Lewis by NINE POINTS...despite a DNF at Canada and Spa, Steward inquiry at Monaco, Malaysia and Hungary... Short fuelled at Silverstone poor pit-stop at Turkey.... am sorry Button is not in Lewis's league... Can you imagine Lewis had an incident free season? the only way Button would be number 1 driver at Macca is if he wins the WDC... I would put my money on Lotus winning a race first before Button landing a WDC at Macca..

@olaray, You seem to forget Jense has had the same amount of DNFs as Lewis and both of his were not his fault whereas Lewis' retirements came from race incidents. Yeah Lewis hasn't had an incident-free season but fact is and it's a fact because of the championship standing, Button has been better than Lewis so far this season. Lewis may be faster but it's clear Button is a better racer overall and that is having an impact. Without Button's DNFs (considering they were car issues) he's be well clear of Lewis as well as Webber and Alonso. You seem determined to believe Button's nowhere near as good as Lewis which is fine. You're entitled to your opinion. Only thing I can say is numbers don't lie, and number have Button ahead of Hamilton at the moment.
