F1 » Bortolotti earns Williams test with F2 title win

Mirko Bortolotti: I managed to win this prize so I will try to prepare myself as best as I can. I had the luck in the past to get some F1 tests so maybe that could help me but of course everything changed this year so it will be interesting to learn all the new parts that the F1 car has and try to give the best I can and enjoy the day.

I can't understand what's gone wrong at Williams, is it lack of funds or lack of direction.

Just possible next years car could have their "double diffuser" tweak. F1 is so fickle that it could happen....and yea, I know pigs might fly. But you never know.

Yes the downfall of Williams is a great shame. Didn't this guy break the Fiorano lap record in a Ferrari once? Doubt he'll repeat the feat at Abu Dhabi... Well done on winning F2 though. Excellent achievement.

You need millions to buy a Williams F1 seat....

And you will be mid field going no where.

Nice to see this kid bounce back, he was great in italian F3 and impressed hugely on his Ferrari test as someone pointed out before, then had a bit of a slump in form and was dropped from the Ferrari development roster... They might regret that now. He obviously has the speed if not the consistency, would love to see him in GP2 next season!
