Unfortunately for Karun it does not depend on Tony Fernandes. The Malaysian/Indian businessman could see the marketing opportunity in letting Karun drive as Fernades priority seems to be PR but the decision is Mike Gascoyne's and his opinion is what counts. Team Lotus need two good finishes in India to maintain their 10th spot and with a new race anything could go wrong infront of them and Gascoyne is just worried a Virgin or a HRT could pip them to the crumbs left by the real race teams.

Of course that what I'm saying Glock, Liuzzi Ricciardo D'Ambrosio
Are all race drivers that have arrived at F1 because of their talent not because they have a father who is influential in the part of the world that F1 thinks it can exploit unfortunately Karun has been a bit of a failure considering the backing he has had over the years, British F3, GP2, GP2 Asia all failures beaten regularly by drivers who only can dream of driving in F1.
In Fernades first year in F1 he courted the Malaysians by having Fairuz Fauzy in his team as 3rd driver when he fell out with Malaysia he turned in this his second year to Karun why because India will host an F1 race simple PR But for race logic leave that to Gascoyne, he never gave Fauzy a chance last year why will he give Karun a chance this year, and before it is said about Fauzy he beat Chandhok in the championship when they raced each other in GP2 Asia.

Karun take the money that's on offer for the interviews in India then go spend it in GT's

both D'Ambrosio and Riciardo are in F1 cause of money and money alone. Tell me one championship that Riciardo has won? on what basis of merit does he deserve the HRT drive?

Maldanado, Senna, Petrov, Perez and list continues ..are all in F1 because of money and nationality alone..
Explain your reasoning here and then talk

Chandhok just wants to be a celebrity he knows he will never be an F1 driver

He just chases fame learning to network like his dad good luck to him with that but don't hold a real talent out of a race seat just because of where you were born

I can't really comment on his talent as he drove rather decently in his HRT days but then made a mess of it in FP1 in Melbourne.

I think he should've jumped back in GP2 instead of staying Reserve. Reserve drivers are rarely regarded by teams these days. They prefer live action souls...

wow thats some term I invented!! 'Live Action Souls' (Copyrights!) :))

He sounds like a petulant child when on the BBC. Always stomping on the true talent by talking louder and ignoring people when they try to finish their point.

The best place in F1 for Karun is as a third driver because you dont ever have to listen to them speak.

And he doesnt drive to the level his arrogance guarantees. If he did, RBR would have dropped Vettel in favor of Chandhock this year!

Well out of the two Indian Drivers out there, Narain Karthekeyan is the best...no second thoughts....Karun does carry some influence...that has helped him time and again....but now when the Team is considering the last 2 races very seriously in order to defend their position I think they probably will stick to their regular drivers....and I just hope they organizers dont mess up the whole weekend...it'll be horrible after last year's Common Wealth Games...
