F1 » Massa: I don’t understand why I got the penalty

Felipe Massa: I didn't do anything wrong... I braked and was in front of him [Hamilton] and he touched me from behind. It's nothing to do with it being him...

Flip has had a mare this weekend. He knew Hamilton was there and that turning in would cause contact, probably a crash.

After the losses suffered in racing lately, it's not the smartest move.

What's there not to undestand?????

Massa saw Hamilton next to him and he turned in on him you can't just turn in and think your not going to cause a crash,Massa is clearly seen looking in his mirror so he new he was there

I don't understand either. The idea of a racing incident doesn't exist anymore unfortunately.

It was quite a bold move by Lewis but he was never ahead and two cars weren't going to make it through that corner. Massa had the choice to either back off completely or go onto the runoff area. But why should he? They're racing for position. He wasn't beaten to the corner.

lewis hamilton claimed 'i backed out because he wasnt going to leave any room' . . . really lewis? . . . perhaps felipe wrongly assumed that being ahead somehow meant that he had the corner. anyone watching the race would have seen the switch to on-board just in time to cover their eyes while hoping lewis wouldnt try to squeeze his car down the inside, well it was to no avail, and lewis leaves india thinking that he was the victim. one of the daftest penalties of the year!

Big joke, Hamilton runs in to massa and Massa gets the penalty, well done Jonny Herbert, and for that matter Eddy Jordan and David Coulthard for must be regarded as the most bias commentary recorded to date on the BBC on the Hamilton Massa incident. They must regard every one is stupid to come up with these comments.
