F1 » Webber: I just don't have the pace at the end of the stints

Mark Webber: We lost the podium in the middle of the race really. It's pretty much the general story of this year; I just don't have the pace at the end of the stints, so I run out of tyres and then lose strategy, it means I have to pit earlier and it makes life harder.

Yes, it must be something else. Mark is a promising driver - it must be the car - or the team - or the tires or - or - or the weather.

Lets be honest , and I'm not a Mark hater , he hasn't been as competetive this season ( at least compared to Vettel ) which is a shame 'cause last season he pushed him hard all the way . But I predict that Mark and Lewis will both have better seasons next year which will make it much more interesting for all F1 fans . I wonna see a grand finale to the season next year with as many drivers in with a shout as poss .

@JNA - did you even read the article? Webber said "I just don't have the pace at the end of the stints". Note the reference to self - not the car, not the tyres - he blames himself.

It's also worth noting that he seems to have the starts sorted out (touch wood).

Anyone who recognises my moniker will know that I'm a Webber fan. However, notwithstanding his honesty as I posted on above, I'm starting to get a little tired of his consistent lack of performance. In 2010 he was all over Vettel like white on rice, but this year something is just not right. If he hasn't been able to adjust to the tyres by this point, is he ever going to? Maybe he's just lost the raw pace?

I really do hope he can sort his pace out for 2012, but I think I may be switching my support to Button or Ricciardo (depending on the drive he gets).
