F1 » Webber: I just don't have the pace at the end of the stints

Mark Webber: We lost the podium in the middle of the race really. It's pretty much the general story of this year; I just don't have the pace at the end of the stints, so I run out of tyres and then lose strategy, it means I have to pit earlier and it makes life harder.

It was too bad, because Webber had a really good start this race and was right up Vettel's tailpipe, going into turn one...in fact, it looked to me like he had to brake really hard behind Vettel, which stuffed things up a little bit. Just couldn't get by him. Who knows what might have happened, if Webber could have seen a little daylight at the head of the pack? A lot of the problems he's having are related to tire wear and a lot of that is related to pushing hard behind other cars for much of the race. It's a lot easier for Vettel to manage his tires when all he has to do is turn in fast laps, without worrying about battling or traffic. It's disappointing to see him struggle for pace due to the tires...they've been his biggest enemy this season. His driving has been great, and he's been responsible for some of the most exciting battles and overtakes that made this season worth watching.

Unlike Vettel who at the end of the race set the fastest lap. Horner has talked to Vettel about Needing the additional accolades for the weekend by setting the fastest lap. At the end of India race Horner once again chastised Vettel for Needing to set fastest lap to have a record.

commodore. so taz foretold what i would comment? he is obviously a judge of good character and knew that i would respond with pure facts! against tonio, he has not excelled, yet tonio was dumped by str as being no use. and now, against karthikeyan?? who???

Richard you sure like your negative comments. If you look at the last 6 races between ricciardo and liuzzi, and gave a point for: 1) quali (2)race (3) fastest lap (and excluded qualies or races where there were technical issues), then ricciardo's total is 11, and liuzzi 6. for a rookie driver against an experienced solid driver, that is excelling if you ask me, almost beating his competition 2 to 1 in the three measurable stats.

Richard I am not going to debate the issue with you.

Surely the squabbling between the drivers at STR is a clear indication.

Taz was not making a point about Daniel but you and your negativity.

Mate everyone is open to an opinion but that does not
say yours is correct or mine. You say Rob is bitter but look at what you are writing

commodore. what remark have i made that implies even the slightest form of bitterness. to make a comment that ricciardo has not stepped up to the mark, as i and others expected, is in no way a bitter remark. i have absolutely no bitterness against any driver, or in fact, any person. too old for that sort of mallarkey.
