Jenson Button is hoping that the McLaren team can make improvements to its car so that he can challenge Sebastian Vettel at the final two races of 2011.

Jenson is undeniably in a slightly inferior car to Vettel, and it would be interesting to see just how Vettel would fare against Jenson in similar machinery.
Jenson is a very very good racing driver but its a shame he just cant seem to qualify a bit better to give himself more of a chance.
A Point of Note is that Jenson's also had a couple of potential race wins robbed from him through no fault of his own and Vettel has had NO problems at all like that , which has influenced Jenson's championship points situation .

Button is the only capable of challenging Vettel at this moment.
I don't see Ferrari making a huge step suddenly and win the final 2 GP. Hamilton has too many issues and Webber still can't manage to beat Vettel.
Mark only beat Vettel once this year and it was in Germany.
But Vettel spinned so on race pace it really doesn't count.

I must say that I was one of those that always believed Jenson to be a good midfield runner but lacking the killer instinct. Well was I wrong. Jenson has really impressed this season with his incredible consistency and smoothness. We all thought that Hamilton would smoke him but it has gone the other way. Good for you Jenson ... keep it up !!!

i don't think button will ever beat seb on a regular basis and if lewis can sort himself out and get his confidence back and get martin whitless of his back and get a fast car for the START of next season, button won't see which way lewis and seb went. they are the 2 fastest drivers out there.

Congrats to Button for consistantly being the best of the rest. With Vettel in his own lonely world, Button has actualy had to compete for his seconds.(The real race within the race) Even from the second or third row or worse, he (and Alonzo) are the show.

Well lorenzo lemioni, look at it this way, if Lulu does get a fast car for next season so will Jenson and making excuses for why Lulu has done nothing this year ie, his head and whitless supposedly on his back is really just that, excuses, the reality is that Lulu has actually done nothing since his WDC year even though he has always had a very good car even if not the fastest and read what those drivers in contention have said, second place means nothing.
The Jenson knockers on here always come up with,"well Jenson won the WDC because he had the best car" only two drivers in recent times spring to mind winning the WDC in the second or third best car, Fernando and Michael.

The only reason Button lagged slightly behind Hamilton in Korea was because, effectively, he only had one hour in which to set up the car for a dry race. Give Button more time to set up the car and Hamilton won't see which way he went. As was the case in India. Button primarily sets his car up for the race, whereas Hamilton just sets it up to go faster in qualifying and tries to drive around any problems in the race.

Jenson is becoming a mature, consistent, skillful and calculating driver. McLaren fits him like a glove.
I bet he's Alain Prost's current fav.

As for Lewis, he has more than just setup problems. His FP and Qually performance has left him always trying to drive around Massa during the races, there's his REAL problem.

And a heartbroken puppy lovin' F1 Driver?
C'mon, give your head a shake Lewis. Man up.
