Alex Zanardi has won the handbike class of the prestigious New York Marathon, and now looks forward to the 2012 Paralympics.

Skidmarks, the same words popped into my head before I even look at the comments the guy is truly a legend, shame so few know of his story outside the motor racing world, or merely forgotten about him.

Oddly I think he has achieved much more since losing his legs, most people would have just sat around feeling sorry for themselves, and most of all he doesn't brag about it or try and get out there, that is why Lance Armstrong annoys me slightly, just seems to want everyone to know how good he is.

yeh, Zanardi is a great man.
Love his spirit. One of the real great sportsmen of our generation, makes a lot of other sportsmen who our kids aspire to look pretty pathetic tbh.
