They have no more sullied the name of LOTUS than the team that will next year be called LOTUS
They should be called what they are team GENII Capital proton/lotus are just title sponsors
So they won't be LOTUS either

Sodesu, your reasoning is flawed
All the examples you give are brand names owned & used by the parent companies
GENII Capital are the owners of the F1 team but are branding their team & cars with the name of the title sponsor
As has been the situation with Renault this season don't own the team, but sponsor them & supply engines
As Manor & Virgin have done and to a lesser extent with McLaren having Vodafone in the official team name

I don't care.
Having the Lotus name back in F1 can only be a good thing. At least there is some hope that the cars and team can be competitive, and if RK comes back soon, look out.

@Richard,

I've watched as you've continually belittled TFs outfit, for what because they brought back the Lotus name and when Proton wouldn't play ball brought back Team Lotus. Because of a misplaced belief in "heritage". Sorry but heritage means nothing in todays modern capitalist world. I don't see Team Lotus as having done anything wrong, TF took a route open to him and fair play. If Group Lotus/Proton had played ball with David Hunt, then would we be discussing this? We wouldn't, but they didn't. In the end I think Group Lotus came out of this looking shoddy as they seemed determined to derail TF. In the end Team Lotus have emerged better as they moved on in their own terms.

Best of luck as Caterham next year.
