hey vern, Robert not a star? He almost won the championship in 2008 but unfortunately for him, BMW did not develop the car in the later part of that year. In 2010 he flew in the Renault and have you forgotten how he ever got an F1 drive? by outpacing a former world champ called Villenuve in free practice.

How i wish that he could just show up in the garage at one of the races, would be great for F1 to just see him. But then again this must be a very diffucult period for him, missing the racing. I hope other drivers call him up sometimes.

Its sad but f1 fans may have to except that Robert may not return to f1, and if he did would he be able to perform to the same high standards which we saw before his unfortunate accident.

Gordo, your comment which is a obvious dig at another driver who is not even mentioned in this article is quite bazaar as the person you say is a non crashing f1 pilote is in this situation because he has crashed. Try and stop the hating and enjoy f1.

There's an interesting article on Autosport

"Manager denies Robert Kubica will miss start of 2012 Formula 1 season"

Also states that his contract expires at the end of 2011 and he's effectively a free agent.

Taz, as you might Gus I to have seen/read that and do you know what was the first thing through my mind? All teams will have a set of drivers for 2012, RK will be a free agent and he will be ready in 2012 (according to his manager) so who will be ready/willing to put him in a car (race) when he will be such an unknown quantity in 2012?

sunny. i thought that you were referring to my sky tv remark, but i now see that ryan is back with lrgp! as you say, only fb is now missing. but dont forget, ryan was hung out to dry by whitmarsh and dennis, so he may be ok!

back on topic, in ths case i tend to believe that the lrgp info might be the more correct and that kubicas manager is trying to ensure that kubicas seat is retained. the simple fact is that kubica has still not got full use of his hand, and no team could really believe that he will be fully fit for the start of the season, let alone by middle of season. apart from the fitness issue, there is also the issue as to whether or not he would be even up to speed. i dont think that ANY team would be prepared to take this HUGE gamble.

Richard, yes agree about MW and RD I remember Lulu declaring that he did lie because DR told him to lie, and by the way do you remember the debate we had right after the flag fell on that subject? It went on up to the next race and you wrote and asked if people will apologize to me then.
Re RK, incredible to read people sure or thinking that Ferrari will take the risk.
