F1 » Senna: Being in Q3 a victory in itself

Bruno Senna: I'm very happy with that. It was not what I was expecting when the weekend started but it's good news...

How bad is this car, really, for Senna to get it into Q3 and finish ahead of Schumi? Wonder where it would be with the old Kubica on board. Or is Senna upping his game to shut out Grosjean -- hope so.

The suprise driver in the top 10.

Considering Petrov has had alot more time in that car, Senna though lacking consistency, has shown some good form.

Well done Senna, convert this good performance to the race and you may yet have a seat next year??

@NutballRacer - considering Schuy didn't post a time, I think even an HRT could have beet him in this scenario!

Senna and Barrichello seem to be driving at a different level this weekend! Probably the Brazilian atmosphere! :P Hopefully he can convert this into a decent result and not ruin another good quali performance!

james. i agree. but what is disappointing is the fact that a driver can sit out q3 in order to try and gain an advantage by having a choice of tyre on which to start. i think it was brundle who said that all in the top 10 should be given an extra set of softs, on which to qualify, and that these had to be handed back at end of quali. makes sense to me.

@ JamesMontgomery - I guess your point was that Schumi wasn't trying, right? OK, so lets look at Q2. Schumi dragged it in 10th with a 1'13.571, just 13 hundredths better than Paul DiResta. in Q2 I suppose the logic should be the same - 11th or 10th in Q2 also wasn't worth much effort for Schumi, right? Of course you observed that Schumi did not trouble Senna in Q2, being .271 seconds adrift - notice that? So what was your point again?....Right.

My point was that either the Renault is not too bad, or maybe Senna did pretty well, or both. Schumi in the Merc form a relevant comparison -- at least in this case.
