@derp

I think it's far from certain Bahrain will actually end up happening, Bernie was still saying they were going last year when it was obvious they weren't so I would take it with a huge pinch of salt.

Taz I constantly speak with guys from the WGA V8
Championship in Bahrain and they say things are back to normality.

They suspended all motor racing at BIC earlier in the year but it has all re-commenced

Taz the guys I speak with are really co-operative and one can only hope the political activists don't once again use the F1 platform to make a stand.

Must agree though the circuit leaves a lot to be desired. We were their 3 years ago and it did not enthrall us also.

Time will see.

commodore. . the situation was never as bad as implied by some, here. but there is still a certain amount of unrest. a couple of days ago, there was a bomb at british embassy.

but you are right. some political activists were active here, spreading scaremongering rumours,but both sides were at it. lets hope they do not cause dissention again.

Richard - do you have business interests in Bahrain? Throughout this whole ordeal you seem to have painted a rather rosy picture of the situation over there. Even the independent report commissioned by the royal family was highly critical of the human rights abuses carried out by the government. The guilty parties are not being held accountable but instead being given different jobs. It is too soon to think about sending the F1 circus back there. Hopefully more people in F1 can find the courage to take a stand with Mark Webber.
